I’ve observed that individuals don’t necessarily have to be powerful at all to rule over folks. They simply need to give the illusion of power.
The illusion of power is just enough to generate fear to keep folks subjected to the Will of those putting on this illusion. If this fear were to be overcome, the smoke and mirrors would be exposed, and people would see exactly how powerless those who oppress them truly are.
There would probably in fact be those who would see themselves as being a fool for even allowing fear to drive them into believing in such an illusion in the first place. Who or what is telling you what to perceive?
