So many are afraid of the dark….because we’ve been taught to associate the dark with evil. The darkside isn’t wickedness.
The true intent of dealing with the dark is to dig deep into your innerself, your True Self. We like to think that only what we deem as our positive traits represent who we are, or ideally who we’d like to be, and that our so called negative traits are flaws. But the reality is those negative traits make up a part of who we are. Think about the traits within yourself that you deem negative…dark. Is it really the trait that’s negative? Or rather is your expression of that trait negative because you haven’t faced it?
The Master Teacher Solomon according to legend bound up his demons and made them serve him….for the greater good which was building the Great Temple. That temple being you. If you ignore your dark side, you ignore half of yourself. If you try to kill your dark side, you’re killing half of yourself. To truly know self you have to delve into the dark, face it, accept it….but don’t be afraid. The point of illumination is to be able to shine in the darkness. Light is birthed out of darkness. Let the dark serve you in this way…
The breaking of social norms, society’s expectations, and challenging the status quo will seem “dark” to most, because they’re imbalanced in light. But the rejection of what society deems “right” does not mean the rejection of morality and integrity. In fact, by working in the dark you should be improving on real morality and integrity. This is how you find your True Self and Will rather than acting in a programmed way of what is right or wrong. Society’s acceptance doesn’t mean correct or good, and what they call unacceptable doesn’t mean wrong or bad. This is for you to discover on your own journey. Don’t be afraid. Love is the law, let it guide you.
