Supplies for the journey.
There are many who fear or are intimidated by psychedelics because of the stories they hear about bad trips from different individuals. While a bad trip is certainly a real concern, it should be understood that these unwanted experiences happen for the large part due to the person’s own mentality before and going into the trip. If you are in an uncomfortable place or a negative state of mind, these can be things that trigger a bad trip. Also speaking specifically of magic mushrooms, these wonderful tools have the ability to make us face our shadows and those parts of ourselves within that need to be dealt with and need healing that we tend to bury and not think about. If you’re not ready to deal with those things, this too can trigger a bad trip.
However when these aspects of Self are faced and dealt with during the trip, the experience is extremely rewarding. There have been reports of magic mushrooms being used to break serious addictions and cure depression. This is because of the effect they have on the Mind. Though not literal, there’s a simplistic way of understanding how this works. Think of your brain as being a module that receives signals from everything the senses perceive. Because there are so many signals being received at once, the brain processes the usual set of signals that allow you to be conscious, focus, and be functional in everyday life while filtering out signals that are irrelevant to the norm. When you eat the magic mushrooms, they temporarily shut down these filters during the trip which makes you more perceptible to the Universe and allows your Mind to expand with new ways of thinking about things, and new solutions to problems you were having before.
While irresponsible use can lead to trouble, magic mushrooms and psychedelics as a whole are incredibly useful tools for exploring your inner worlds and learning more about yourself and the Universe when used correctly. I’ve used psychedelics quite a few times throughout the years and I can say I’ve never had a bad trip. Don’t be afraid to give them a try and see where your Mind takes you!
