In three different tarot decks I own, Card 13 (Death) is depicted as being female and also pregnant. This in my opinion is truly the best representation of the principle of Death. Many erroneously think of Death as the final stage of life, but it’s actually a transition. The death of one cycle is but the birth of another. We “die” and are “reborn” multiple times just within our current physical form by shedding old things that no longer serve us and evolving our minds to a new state. Biologically, this is also true with the shedding of old cells to be replaced with the new. The seasons change and leaves fall just for more to grow back next Spring. The Universe shows us time and time again that Death is never truly “the end”. Fear it not, we are ever living beings! Asé.
