The Gnostic Dread from the very beginning has always been about my personal journey in discovering Knowledge of Self. First launched on Tumblr back on the 1st of June 2014, I created this blog as a way to express my religious, spiritual, and philosophical thoughts in some structured form via my writing, instead of having them remain jumbled in my mind. The actual start of this journey however was years earlier.
In 2009 an event took place in my life that stirred a spiritual awakening within me. This lead me to start studying all of the different world religions and spiritual systems. I studied their history, beliefs, and traditions. Along the way I was also introduced to Gnosticism, Esotericism, and the Occult. Through my study of all these different ideologies I came to the conclusion that the Divine exist within, rather than being something external and separated from humanity. This is what having Knowledge of Self is all about.
Today when I claim to be Gnostic, I’m saying that I actively seek to know and experience the Divine essence within myself. I am not claiming a religious sect. This is done completely through personal experience. Your path will not be the same as mine or anyone else’s! Every man and woman’s path back to the Source is uniquely their own.
This blog encompasses all that I have learned and continue to learn along this journey. It also contains my thoughts and passions that go beyond the topics usually associated with spirituality. Whatever it is that has drawn you here, I hope that it will be an inspiration and Light along your own path.
